Time to wrap up this Buckchery-Avenged Sevenfold concert discussion. The e-mails have stopped now, so I just want to enter my final thoughts. Here's a snippit of what will appear in Thursday's ROCK COLUMN:
You need loud music. You need at least relatively big stage shows. You need enough people to bewitch the mind into feeling a very primitive, tribal connection with your fellow concert-goers. And a cup of cold beer is nice, too.
What are the unfortunate but necessary consequences of all of that?
There will be a few bad apples. There will be minors who get their hands on booze. There will be smokers of illegal grasses and swallowers of illicit pills. There will be spilled beer and some unlucky souls may throw up. It will get warmer in whatever venue you're in and there will be sweat.
Who's responsible for keeping the negatives to a minimum, the positives to a maximum?
Venue staffers, venue and promoter security, local police, and concert goers.
What did I see happen Feb. 21 at the Buckcherry-headlined concert at Kellogg Arena? All of the above, and that's what made it into my Feb. 23 story.
See the rest of the story (R.I.P. Paul Harvey) Thursday in the WOW.
Then it's time to put this behind us and look forward to Disturbed on April 30.

Great article! I can't see how anybody will have anything to complain about. I loved the previous story on 2/23 as well.
Look forward to the article following Disturbed!!
Will you be doing a story on Saliva who is playing at Planet Rock next week?

All of the above was exactly what you should report. Great post.

Hopefully you've already read and answered your own question, but yes, there'll be a story Thursday about Saliva.
And thanks for the compliments.
