BILL MILLER
March is here, and the temps are still in the teens, 20s and 30s! Snow is deep, and I haven't seen any maple syrup tapping start — unbelievable!
Actually, this is a probably more like an "old fashioned" winter than these wimpy winters we've had so far in the 21st century.
I thought it would be fun to look at the Enquirer's weather station stats since Jan. 1 and found this:
• Last time in the 60s: Jan. 7, when it got to 62
• Last time in the 50s: Jan. 8
• Last time in the 40s: Feb. 4 & 5, Feb. 17
• Coldest days: Jan. 20 & 25, Feb. 10-11, around 0
Whatever happened to the January thaw — a couple of days, say, in the 60s? Not this year, I guess.
Forecasts call for a slight warmup on Sunday, in the 40s, with lots of rain...more potholes ahead!
By the way, I haven't heard anybody talk about cabin fever so far...maybe we'll hear it in March if winter continues. In any case, if you're feeling it, here are some remedies.
Now turn off the computer and get outside!
