'Showtime' should go

I really hate to say it, but if Devin Thomas can get second-round money in this year's NFL draft, he should probably take it. There is just too much risk in the game of football to pass up that kind of money or  opportunity to live your dream.

That being said, I truly think Thomas will succeed at the next level. He's got all the tools of a big-play receiver and we'll be proud to have him representing the Green and White in the in the NFL.

Just one look at what Devin accomplished this year statistically and you can see why its likely that 'Showtime' will be a coveted pick come April.

Thomas led the Big Ten and ranks ninth nationally in receiving with 1226 yards for an average of 102.2 per game. He also led the league in all-purpose yardage at 2370 yards for an average of 197.5 per game.

Losing Thomas in our return game will hurt nearly as much as it does at wideout. He consistently set MSU up with good field position and I swore he was going to break one for a score at some point this year, hopefully he still will.

How Thomas, who had eight touchdowns, was not a first-team all-Big Ten pick, I don't know. I guess Manningham's additional 3 scores gave him the edge. What a crock.

Anyway, thank you Devin for an amazing year and best of luck in the coming months.
