Summer sucks
Nothing to talk about, because nothing is going on, nothing terribly interesting anyway.
Baseball and Softball are still going, but I'm not really following either, I never do.
But if any of you are, and I'm sure a few of you are, let us know your thoughts/observations. And if you're like me and not following those sports, what are you doing to fill your MSU void during the summer?
Can 8/30 come any sooner, please?

This has nothing to do with this topic, but I need some help. My wife tried out for the womens softball team in 1970 as a walk on. Her high school had no sports programs for girls at that time. The only baseball she ever played was basicly sand lot ball. She made the team and by the middle of that season she was a starter. Which I think is amazing but I know I'm a little predjuce. Any way she turns the big 60 next year and I am trying to get a team photo and maybe an individual photo for her as a suprise. If any one out there can help me I would really appreciate it, and so would our daughters. You can contact me at kulikagency@yahoo.com. Again thank you very much

Walter,
Have you tried Sports Information at MSU? They're probatly not as busy at this time of year as they might normally be, so maybe they could hook you up. (517) 355-2271. The office is located at Z22 Breslin Center.
Back to the main topic. I caught the last few innings of the second game of the MSU @ PSU baseball doubleheader this past Sunday on PSU's webcast (it was linked on the MSU athletics homepage). The pitching is looking good and the bats are coming to life as MSU has won 9 of its last 11 games.
Here's the big Spartan upset over Michigan in the Big Ten Softball tournament today:

But really our best spring sports right now are men's golf (won the Big Ten, ranked #20, moving on to an NCAA regional), women's golf (second in the Big Ten, ranked #17 and currently playing in the NCAA West Regional), and women's rowing (won the Big Ten, ranked #6, moving on to an NCAA regional).
