While MSU won Sat, there is only a little cause for optimism. They nearly gave the game away via a always dysfunctional prevent defense. Prevent defense never works against a mobile quarterback. Rushing only 2 defenders was a huge mistake.

Also, 110 yards in penalties cannot stand. Again and again, it seems our defense is not functioning as smoothly as it should throughout the game. Why. . .when the defense was effective throughout much of the game, suddenly switch to the old mode of "prevent the loss" instead of cement the win?
