MSU announced today that the Sept. 4 football season opener against Western Michigan at Spartan Stadium will be a noon start and be televised by ESPN2.

Mike Brown fired, Cleveland job open, Dan Gilbert a Spartan, Tom Izzo mentioned. It all makes sense. The interesting thing about this assessment, though, is the fact that Izzo is grouped with Phil Jackson and Coach K in the sounds-great-but-not-bloody-likely category.
