If Mike Cox wants to be governor of Michigan he should be more like Jerry Brown. How does a Michigan Republican attorney general benefit from being like a flaky former Democratic governor of California? Read on.
Brown, in his current gig as California’s AG, just issued an opinion that allows an 18 percent pay cut to hit California legislators next month. That’s right, the nation’s highest-paid legislators will lose about $20,000 each starting in December.
The pay cut was in place, but waiting out what was presumed a constitutional delay. Seem familiar? But Brown said the cut can take effect right now.
Methinks that if Cox could find a way to mimic Brown here, he would gain some major points with voters fed up with the antics of the second-highest-paid legislators in the country.
