Granholm hospitalized following emergency surgery
Gov. Jennifer Granholm is "resting comfortably", her press office said this morning, following emergency surgery Tuesday night to remove a bowel obstruction related to a 1993 car crash.
The surgery has postponed a trade mission to Israel and Kuwait, which would have been Granholm's sixth overseas mission since 2004. She has previously traveled to Germany, Austria, Japan and Sweden. Officials said the trip would be rescheduled.
We wish Granholm a speedy recovery, and hope she's doing well.
We will obviously keep you informed as to the governor's latest condition, both here and in an article that will be frequently updated on our website.

You do realize that this will be fodder for jokes in the next several days, right?

I would like to know more about the complication from a crash 15 years ago... How does that work?

Leave it to a Republican to consider this "fodder for jokes."
When was the last time you heard a Democrat consider Vice President Cheney's heart condition "fodder for jokes"?

Maybe if Cheney hadn't shot someone recently, we would have to fall back on his healthy lifestyle.

Yeah, I haven't heard any "Dead Eye Dick" jokes lately.
And sorry to burst you bubble amac, but I'm not a republican.
