West Virginia and/or bust

West Virginia voters go to the polls today, where they're expected to pick Hillary Clinton over Barack Obama in something resembling a landslide. Even still, it's not likely to change the game much.

The word out of the Clinton camp is margin of victory. Bill Clinton was pushing voters to give Clinton 80 percent or more, while some word leaked yesterday about 90 percent.

That's a DC for Obama or Utah for Mitt Romney-sized margin and folks, it ain't going to happen. Realistically, the number we're looking for is 70. If Clinton wins 69-31 or less, then that's just expected. But you hit that magic number 70, and I'm guessing that the storyline changes to how Clinton didn't just win, she throttled Obama.

But remember: The name of the game is delegates. West Virginia has 28 of them. Obama, according to the Associated Press, has a delegate lead of 169. Just to put that in perspective.

And a further problem for Clinton: She hasn't yet found a way to stop the superdelegate bleed to Obama. More perspective: Obama won more superdelegates last week that Clinton will win pledged delegates tonight.

.....and yet substantial numbers of people in Ohio, Texas, Pennsylvania, Indiana and now West Virginia continue to support Hillary even though she's allegedly finished as a candidate.

The real story is WHY are those voters still supporting Hillary over Obama? Why didn't they jump on his bandwagon? What does Hillary have going for her that Obama does not, in spite of his all-but-certain Democratic nomination for president?

We import everything except preemptive aggession. Gas at $4.00 a gallon, jobs being shipped overseas, taxes go up in the form of unneeded millages, income tax, fees and fines with no end in sight. People are asked to loose (layoff) their jobs so others will not have to take a hit. Vote Democrat or Republican? WHY? What will any of these "Candidates" do for YOU or ME!

Amac certainly either watched Howard Wolfson this morning or got hold of a transcript.

If we're asking that question, why not ask why Hillary Clinton continues to run even though 92 percent of North Carolina's African-Americans just voted against her?

African-Americans are an important bloc in the Democratic Party too. How did the original frontrunner manage to go from having the support of 85 percent of that group of people to having 8 percent? Isn't Obama doing better among white people?

Why couldn't Clinton close the door among black people?

Because people vote for people they are comfortable with. And if you are going to tell me the people in Southern Ohio, Central Pennsylvania, western Virginia, West Virginia, eastern Kentucky and Tennessee, and western North Carolina have an awful lot of experience with African-Americans in elected positions you are flat wrong.

One last point...how exactly does one include Texas and Ohio (voted March 4), Pennsylvania (voted April 22) and Indiana (voted May 6) in a post about someone being allegedly finished as a candidate? Weren't four of those states voting prior to her being finished as a candidate?

They are probably falling for her bogus gas price gimmick, as the republicans are both locally and nationally.

Hey wait a minute, maybe she is a really a republican????? No wonder Rush, Hannity, Coulter, and O'Reilly are all giddy over her.

Move over McCain, here comes Hillary. If she cannot win the democratic nomination by following the rules, perhaps she can snag the republican nomination. Just maybe she could challenge all the republican primaries claiming she has more total delegates (who care if they are democrat delegates)or got more popular votes than McCain.

Just think of it. Hillary vs. Obama; coming to a campaign near you this Fall!
