Moving Forward- Together
Ah, Lansing. I try so hard to support you, to sing your praises, and have faith in your recovery. You are my home and my business's home, you keep me close to my family, and you are what I believe to be a diamond in the rough- just waiting to be discovered so you can truly shine.
These past few weeks, however, you have let me down, Lansing. You have not shown compassion to your neighbors, you have not extended a helping hand to your fellow humans who have fallen as we all struggle through difficult times, and you have, quite frankly, acted like a butthole.
Why can't you lend a few extra cents to Eatran, Lansing? Did you know that many people who utilize Eatran are disabled or physically impaired in some way? Did you realize that CATA cannot extend their services to some outlying communities, so Eatran is necessary to fill this need so our neighbors can safely travel to and from their daily, required tasks?
Perhaps it is difficult for you to understand, Lansing, since you may feel that you do not need the assistance of others... Ever. Perhaps you find it challenging to consider others may not be as able, as financially secure, or as physically or mentally fit as you. Perhaps, Lansing, you have forgotten that we are all human beings, and that we all deserve the opportunity to seek happiness, health, and fuflfillment in our lives.
My wish is to see my city not only weather the storm of slow economy, job loss, and political turmoil, but to also see my city thrive with compassion, love, and outreach.
