My first triahtlon is next weekend, and I've been training since February. The water temperature in Hawk Island Park's lake will probably be around 65 degrees, if it's nice and hot every day between now and then. In other words, it's going to be effing cold. So, to combat the cold temps of my 400 meter swim, I rented a 'for-real-triathlete-bad-ass' wetsuit, which arrived today via FedEx. It looked cool in the bag it came in- getting into it was another story.

I then summoned all of the willpower I could muster and applied it to changing my entire mental focus for the race- and life- and turned it all around, somehow managing to swim further and run faster than I had yet to accomplish in the same week. Is it really all about mind-over-matter?
