Big Finish

Sunday June 5 was a bit of a blur. Yes, I crossed the Finish Line of my first triathlon, and that was pretty exciting. But the race itself was merely an afterthought in comparison to the transformation I have experienced over the last 4 months while training for the big day.

People keep asking me if I will do another tri, and I keep saying "Yes!" To sum up what I have learned about my body, my mind, my habits, my fears, my thresholds for pain and endurance and heat, my stomach, and my self-image in this blog would take me a lot longer than a few paragraphs. But if you've ever heard a first-time marathoner, triathlete, or even 5K finisher say the experience was 'life-changing', I can vouch for the statement's truthfulness.

We can all of us accomplish our goals. Set it, commit to it, and don't give up. It might come off as hokey or stereotypical, but it really is all about your mental state (positivity!) and your drive to keep moving forward.
