Inspiration Board

Sometimes I hit the road, treadmill, or gym and feel like a million bucks when I'm finished working out. Other times, I drag my sorry butt slowly through my routine, or what I can finish of it, and trudge home barely able to stay focused long enough to drive home where I can collapse into a nap. After the Holiday Buzz has worn off, this long stretch of No-Man's Land before Spring often gives me much more of the latter.

I caught a head cold right before Christmas, and I'm still evacuating interesting colors and textures from my nasal passages, which has made getting back into my fitness swing a bit difficult. Over the past 3 weeks I had one week where I could hardly move at all except from bed to couch, one week where I ran the most miserable 1.5 miles before I quit shamefully to retire to the couch, and this past week where sweating the damn cold out has just started to feel good again. My last run felt epic, while the one before that was a battle I'm pretty sure I lost.

I've made a resolution this year to make myself an 'Inspiration Board', an idea I took from a running friend, to help me through those rough days of dark and cold that inevitably lie ahead. It will be like the epic runs and workouts when I feel like I can conquer anything- only saved up- for when my inspiration battery is running a little low. Right now I have the dates of my big races and events that I hope to finish posted, along with a few motivational sayings. What would be on your Inspiration Board?
