Beautifully happy.

A
Amongst all of the turmoil in the world right now like the crisis in Japan and the disgruntled Michigan citizens. We owe it to ourselves to find some kind of happy place. A fortress of solitude if you will. It is far to easy to only see the thick muddy lining and not recognize that we have beauty that surrounds us.  Capital RAGE031611_28

I like many other Michiganders are subjected to lots of stress daily. My therapeutic release is family. Spending time with them and laughing and playing and learning about their hopes and dreams and passions. One of the other ways that I help to ease my own stress is to take pictures which is a huge love of mine and it eases my soul. Im also a very religious man so taking time out to pray is important to me. Last but certainly not least is finding time to laugh!  Aaa

You may not be a photographer but that doesn't mean that you can't enjoy a stroll through many of our local parks. And just because you don't see the wildlife that your looking for or that rainbow that would just set your heart a flutter doesn't mean you've missed out. There are lots of galleries in the area bursting at the seams with art and photography.  Aaaa

You have the Lansing Art Gallery and Education Center. This gallery provides not only some beautiful pieces but they also reach out to the community teaching kids and adults from all walks of life how to create and appreciate all forms of art.

You also have the Bloo Kazoo. A brand new unique boutique and gallery that just opened up in the area. They combine great pieces from photographers, artists and sculptures alike. There are plenty of others things there to delight the senses too. Not to mention their mascot Big Bloo is very entertaining!  Bloo kazoo031511_1

There is Haze Art Gallery too. A beautiful gallery nestled in Old Town. Just a hop, skip and jump from almost anywhere in Lansing. They feature lots of local artist and really bring light and happiness to an already beautiful part of town! AA2

Mentally well being is vitally important no matter what your dealing with. Find time to not only visit your local galleries but bring some home with you and support your local photographers, sculptures and artists. You will love having a bit of happiness in your home and knowing that you supported your city. Bloo kazoo031511_2
