This is the weekend that many people have been waiting for! Sure there have already been some events that make us feel that summer has arrived but this one will make you really SMILE! 

The East Lansing Art Festival is having its 48th Showing this weekend out on the MSU campus all around Linden and Abbott.


There will be more art, photos and performers then you can shake a handmade walking stick at! Head out to ELAF with family & friends to enjoy creative & unique handmade items such as clothing or jewelry along with live performances and demonstrations all weekend. Lots of activities for all including for the kiddos
in the Children’s Activity Area, and food… Lots & lots of yummy food! See you there!

Another year has come and gone and now it’s time to celebrate our mothers once again... Wait a minute, if you need a holiday to think of your mom and celebrate all of the things she has done for you, well then your momma didn't raise you right.

Mother’s Day is a day that your mother and/or those that had to take her place are honored publicly for the things they did to help you to be you.

This year my gift is going to be time. I will find old pictures and go to her house and spend time. This may seem boring to some, but the reality is that we are so busy these days that we rarely have time to just sit. Spending time and talking and remembering the good old days bring forth laughter and maybe some tears but hopefully tears of joy!

Some traditional ideas that you can do is send her cards, buy her some flowers and maybe send them to her home or office or take her for a walk in the park. My suggestion is to remember her and all the good times that you all have spent and let your heart be your guide.

Happy Mother’s Day to all the Moms out there! And to all of those that have accepted the role too! May everyday be a celebration of life!

The 5th of May!

More excitedly known as Cinco De Mayo! This celebration of Mexican independence is a triumph of epic proportions for the 4,000 Mexican that fought the 8,000 French and for all Hispanic people. But it is also a reminder of the human spirit that shines bright in all of us. It is a wonderful thing that this celebration is a shared experience!


I can already smell the amazing smells of outstanding food. I can hear the bands incredible music filling the streets and the sounds of laughter and happiness in the air. It truly is a party for all the senses!
