Yep, he's that good
Now that I've seen him live for the first time, I further support what everyone else is saying: Ovid-Elsie running back Chris Robinson is simply outstanding and could star for any team in mid-Michigan, and I imagine most in the state.
The Marauders junior had 261 yards Friday in a regional final win at Freeland, giving him 2,376 this season. He'll need just 122 on Saturday against Standish-Sterling to tie the area record of 2,498 yards East Lansing's Issac Harper tallied just a year ago.
There are some clear similarities in the two backs' styles. Both are physical, do well bursting through the middle and taking on tacklers. Harper was a burner and one of the fastest sprinters in the state, and Robinson -- while still speedy -- isn't as fast as Harper. But Robinson's got deceptive speed, especially at 6-foot and 205 pounds, and outran a number of defenders after bouncing off or spinning by them Friday.
What Robinson also has that makes him more special than most high school runners is instinct. Anyone can charge through holes in the line, but Robinson finds creases and makes good decisions on which cut to make. What he might not have in Harper's speed, he makes up for with a little more shake. He'd definitely be tough to tackle.
It's been easy to see what all the Robinson hype is about from the highlights on local TV. But seeing for myself, over the course of an entire game, backed up just how talented Robinson is -- and could become next season as a senior.

I wish he could have played in the CAAC instead of up north. I haven't gotten to see him play except on the highlights. He seems like a great kid. Plus it'd be nice to see him play against quicker, bigger kids week in and out. That would give him more opportunities for college. Be nice to see him go to a d1 school if possible.

Mr. Kimmerly I would like to thank you for the great article on my son. but I would like to say that all those boys are great, especially that offensive line. we have guys like Nick Madden, Cam Hurst, and Bobby Fraker who also have had long touchdown runs. I saw the clip on Tully Chapman and if he had our o-line we would probably be talking about him this is a great group of kids and I'm very proud of every last one of them. P.S. We also have Chris' younger brother Zachary (Freshman) coming next so look out in the future.

I have heard a lot about this Robinson kid and have been very impressed with his numbers over the course of the season. He's fast, tough, and seems to have good instincts running the ball. If I could, I'd like to point out a great back that nobody has really talked about; Tully Chapman. He is very physical, has great moves, although he is not as fast. He put up good numbers this year as well and did it playing for an Eaton Rapids team that won only one game. Check out his highlight film and decide for yourself. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m_RiYvkD5Gc
