Don't come again until Sunday. Or maybe late June, given how many games local high school teams are trying to make up from the last two weeks.
This spring already seems squeezed a bit with the first batch of state finals May 30 -- not earlier in terms of the usual schedule, but a bit earlier than most years in terms of the actual dates. The bad part is rain-out make-ups are flooding schedules as teams get ready for the postseason, which begins at its earliest Saturday with lacrosse.
Is there a way to avoid this? It's nature, after all. Some have argued the seasons should end later in June, but with seniors graduating in mid-May, I don't think that's the answer. It's just one of those things ... but not one making it any easier on anyone this spring, as one athletic director told me this is the worst weather situation he's faced. How is it affecting you?
