If you're cruising through the northern perimeter of Greater Lansing today and see the Grand Ledge cross country team running by, here's why.
This is the 12th season Grand Ledge's cross teams are running from Holland (where they began this morning) to Port Huron (where they'll arrive Tuesday night). The "Shore-to-Shore Relay" will raise money for their xc programs, and also for battling multiple sclerosis.
After all running together for the first 2 miles, each will run 5 alone. They'll all run through Grand Ledge together, likely between 5:45-6:30 p.m. today. They'll spend the night here tonight, then pick up where they left off Tuesday with an expected Lake Huron arrival of 9-10 p.m.
The teams are taking donations, which can be submitted by calling 927-2373.
