See Chris tackle. See Chris punt. See Chris throw? After filling in at quarterback Friday, it appears Ovid-Elsie's Chris Robinson is doing even more -- if possible -- for the Marauders this season. He's definitely worth checking out, even if you don't have a tie to his team.
Robinson, the senior who nearly broke the state's single-season rushing record with 2,844 yards last fall -- ran for 259 and threw for 86 in Friday's one-point win over Portland.
His college future is yet to be determined, but plenty are watching. If you'd like to as well, here are a few of the best opportunities to do so:
Sept. 11 -- Home against Freeland -- These were the best two in the TVC Central last season, and met again in the playoffs. This should showcase Robinson against his toughest competition the rest of the regular season.
Sept. 25, Oct. 2 or Oct. 9 -- These are the Marauders' other home league games, against Swan Valley, Alma and Chesaning, respectively.
Oct. 23 -- Home against Perry -- There's no telling what kind of huge totals Robinson will be running after heading into this regular-season finale.
Elsie might seem far away, but it's only about a half hour from downtown Lansing. Take 127 north, head east on M-21 at St. Johns, and take a left on Colony Road.
