I'm finishing up our annual Catch 22 football recruiting package for Sunday's paper, and two of the quarterbacks we're focusing on are Inkster's Devin Gardner and Saline's Joe Boisture -- who both skipped the final semesters of high school to enroll early at their respective colleges.

Coaches' wives are an often-overlooked key to success on the football field. But whether by her husband Jerry or his players, Louise Goosen was often brought up in those discussions over the years for her contributions at Ovid-Elsie. She died Saturday after a long battle with cancer.
