4. Lansing Catholic golf -- Jacqueline Setas, a freshman, shot a 78 to win medalist and lead Lansing Catholic to a win at the Lakewood Invitational at Morrison Lake Country Club.
3. Okemos soccer -- The Chieftains knocked off East Kentwood 3-1 on Friday. East Kentwood ended last season ranked No. 3 in Division 1.
2. Lakewood volleyball -- The Vikings finished runners-up at the West Michigan Officials Association Invitational at Rockford. They beat, among others, Jenison (No. 5) and East Kentwood (No. 6), both top-10 finishers in last season's final Class A poll, before losing to the Rams, No. 4 in last season's final poll. Lakewood plays in Class B and was an honorable mention at the end of last season.
1. Holt soccer -- The Rams only tied East Kentwood, but also tied Warren DeLaSalle (No. 10 at the end of last season) and beat Livonia Churchill (No. 7 at the end of last season) 3-1 at the DeLaSalle Invitational. Holt was No. 2 at the end of last season.
