GIRLS SOCCER
CAAC Cup Group 2 final: Grand Ledge 1, Jackson 1: After playing to a 1-1 tie in regulation, Jackson and Grand Ledge will each claim a share of the Group 2 crown, due to a combination of weather and time constraints which prevented the game, and the Cup title, from being decided on penalty kicks. Kallie Catey scored for Grand Ledge early in the second half and Annie Aubrey later tied it up for Jackson on a penalty kick. Catey put the Comets on the board early in the second half. She took a loose ball in the midfield straight upfield, fighting off two Jackson defenders and slotting the end. Jackson held the bulk of the possession early but could generate just one good scoring chance in the first half.
