A fund for Arthur Ray Jr.
MSU has set up a fund for those who would like to help the family of Arthur Ray Jr. deal with rising medical bills.
The freshman lineman from Chicago is back home receiving treatment for a bone infection in his right leg. It's related to the surgery Ray had to remove a cancerous tumor from the leg in July. Ray remains free of cancer, but this is a setback that has forced him to withdraw from school. He's expected back in the fall, with hopes of finally getting on the field for spring ball 2009.
For those of you who are wondering, MSU can't help with Ray's medical costs, because the cancer hit before he was on scholarship, and this problem is related to the cancer surgery. When an MSU athlete has a medical issue while on scholarship, that athlete's insurance is still used first. If it's exhausted or if he/she has no insurance, MSU's insurance takes over. Unfortunately for Ray, that will not be an option.
If you'd like to send a check, send it to:
Arthur Ray Fundraiser
c/o MSU Federal Credit Union
600 East Crescent Drive
East Lansing, MI 48823
You can call 1800-MSU-4-YOU for more information. By NCAA rule, these funds must be designated for a specific purpose, so those writing checks should make it clear that the checks are for medical bills.

That's what I love about MSU, the sense of community, and when a fellow spartan is down, we rally to help him out. I am an MSU alum, a DIE HARD MSU Sports fan, and a local business owner.
I market the World's First Health Promoting, Anti-Aging, and Weight Loss coffee, tea, cocoa, mocha and other products.
I will donate 50% of the proceeds from all orders this month to the Arthur Ray foundation from people who support MSU and Arthur Ray.
I know what it's like to have medical bills, and his are probably out of hand.
To order Healthy Coffee, tea, cocoa, mocha or other products to support the cause.

God Bless, and Go Spartans!!

Hey, Joe: just changing the subject slightly, yes, NCAA rules are really wierd at best. The Ralph Young Fund online site informs all donors that if a HIGH SCHOOL STUDENT (whether he plays sports or not) wants to view a football game from a private box or club seat in Spartan Stadium, he must be the child of the box's lessor from MSU. If he is the child of a guest in the box, he is not allowed entrance. Seems like there is a Chris Webber story here somewhere.
