The official field of the Old Spice Classic (Thanksgiving weekend in Orlando) was announced today, and Georgetown is a late addition. That means the eight-team tourney consists of MSU, Tennessee, Gonzaga, Maryland, Oklahoma State, Wichita State, Siena and the Hoyas.
Jonal Saint-Dic will get his NFL shot with the Kansas City Chiefs.
First, on some MSU non-draftees: Travis Key (Minnesota), Ogemdi Nwagbuo (N.Y. Giants) and Pete Clifford (Arizona Cardinals) are confirmed as having free agent deals. Still waiting to hear on Jehuu Caulcrick, Jonal Saint-Dic and others.
The Redskins took him in the second round, No. 34 overall. Thomas turned out to be one of this year's unexpected plummets.
Devin Thomas has fallen past what was supposed to be his worst-case landing: Tennessee. No receivers have been picked ahead of him, but at this point, even if Thomas goes in the last few picks of the first round, it's fair to say he probably would have had a significantly larger pay day in 2009. The "one-year wonder" knock seems to have some legs.
Tampa at No. 20 seemed like another strong possibility for Devin Thomas, but the Bucs went the cornerback route as well. It shouldn't be long, though -- Dallas, Pittsburgh and Tennessee at 22 through 24 all flew Thomas in and have a need at wide receiver.
The Buffalo Bills just took cornerback Leodis McKelvin with the 11th pick, surprising many who thought they'd take Devin Thomas. The next real possibility for Devin is Chicago at No. 14. Stay tuned.
It looks like Kelvin Sampson's MSU connections might come through for him again.

Here's what Tom Izzo told me at 8:30 this morning about a Yahoo! report that he's a candidate for the Chicago Bulls job: "I can definitely tell you I've never been contacted by anybody. The answer is no. I 100 percent have not been contacted by anybody there."
