Thomas drafted, finally
The Redskins took him in the second round, No. 34 overall. Thomas turned out to be one of this year's unexpected plummets.
So after all that, was it a mistake for Thomas to leave MSU a year early? Mark Dantonio said it would be a good choice only if he went in the first. Mel Kiper said before the draft that another year in college would have made Thomas a sure-thing top-10 pick in 2009.
Of course, Kiper had Thomas going No. 11 today. And he had Houston receiver Donnie Avery -- who went a pick ahead of Thomas -- as the No. 14 receiver in the draft.
