On boards and battered Hawks

Two key members of Iowa's backcourt, Jeff Peterson and Jermain Davis, will miss tonight's game according to this story from the Iowa City Press-Citizen. Cyrus Tate will play some, though. In light of that, I wonder how the Hawkeyes will hold up for 40 minutes against MSU.

Speaking of the Spartans, they are rebounding the basketball at an extraordinary pace. The 2000-01 team rebounded an astonishing 51.5 percent of its misses, the 1998-99 team was slightly above 49 percent. This team is third in the Izzo era, at 46.5. The 1999-2000 national champs were at 46.1
Notice how we're talking about some of the best teams in MSU history.
And don't forget, Raymar Morgan has been MIA for a month.
So yes, if this team ever gets its full rotation working as planned and finds a way to cut down on the stupid turnovers, it could do some good things over the next few weeks.
