Izzo in the D

Here at Comerica Park, Tom Izzo just threw out the first pitch before the Tigers-Yankees game, and he didn't bounce it. It was apparently high and outside (wouldn't know firsthand, they made the writers stand in the tunnel for some reason).

Anyway, Izzo and Co. have had a good time today, his son Steven was on the field with him, and Lupe, his assistant coaches, Mark Hollis and several other MSU people are here as well. Now for some news:
    * Izzo said Korie Lucious and Chris Allen are on schedule in their recovery from broken bones in their feet. Allen did something early in the national title game and played on it the rest of the way. Lucious may have had a pre-existing issue of some kind, which was aggravated late in the game. Both are about 4 to 4 1/2 weeks away from being able to work out.
    * Kalin Lucas never seriously thought about the NBA, although Izzo said he encouraged Lucas to give it a look.
    * What we know on next year's schedule is at Texas and at North Carolina. MSU also may play at The Citadel (it'll probably be next year or the year after), and a home-and-home with Gonzaga may start in East Lansing. Also, MSU may be playing in a preseason tournament in New Jersey which Izzo said includes Florida at this point.
