It's MSU women's beat writer Chris Solari here. With Joe Rexrode sunning himself on some beach (or maybe just lounging around his house) on vacation after his sister's wedding, we thought it'd be a good time to give you an NBA draft update heading into tonight's festivities.
Here's a story Joe did prior to his sojourn. I talked to a travel-weary Goran Suton yesterday afternoon, after his workout with Cleveland was canceled due to travel issues, and he sounded much like Drew Neitzel did last year - nervous, excited and ready to get this process over to focus on his basketball future.
Do you think Suton will get drafted tonight, and where do you think he'll land? What teams would the best fits for Marquise Gray, Idong Ibok and Travis Walton? And will Joe Rexrode ever update this blog again?
I can answer the last one - Joe will be back soon, I pinkie swear.

Suton reminds me of a less athletic Antonio McDyss, however you spell his name. He's got the range and a good set of post moves. His defense and versatility on that end are very capable as well not to mention a great feel for the game.
As for a team with a spot open for him, the Pistons need a bigger 5 than Maxiel and younger than Sheed and McDyss. Other than that, I'd say that the Thunder need a good young big man that's able to run the floor with their speed, but this is where his lack of athleticism would hurt him though. That's a team on the rise, in my opinion and I think that G could do good things to add to the development of that team.

another big development broken first by Adam Rittenberg MSU has landed another huge in-state prospect at QB. Joe Boisture. i just skimmed the article at ESPN.com and it looks as if coach D has landed yet another ESPNU150 player. and one of the most coveted prospects in the state. a big fella at 6'6" 200lbs. defected from Boston College and his headed for East Lansing. i actually feel bad for Joe he goes on Vacation, and all this great news happens. he better come out with one of his Herculean posts when he gets back.

It'd be great to see Goran place well in the draft and do well in the NBA. His path to success at MSU was one of these best Spatan stories in recent memory, both on campus and prior to it. I hope he loops back toward MSU in his more distant future as Mateen has recently done.
I was also really glad to see Lorenzo White was back on campus recently...a one of a number of great chapters and long-overdue ponts of acknowledgment in a tradition that's been under-appreciated and under-communicated till recently. Things are finally coming together on many fronts off court/off field.
The Joe Boisture news today? Fantastic! I was bummed that he seemed headed toward BC, since he'd had MSU at the top of his list. We are now absolutely in the hunt for another top recruiting class for 2010. Way cool!

This is great news on the Boisture commitment. Check out his You Tube video on MLive he seem like a good fit. I Wonder if Bolden has any regrets? Great job M.D. and staff. Go State.
