Preseason props for MSU

The Big Ten media have spoken: MSU was picked to finish third in the Big Ten in voting released in advance of today's Big Ten media days, and Greg Jones was chosen as preseason defensive player of the year.

MSU getting the No. 3 nod is a bit of a surprise (only the top three are chosen), at least to me. I thought Iowa would land there. Brandon Graham of Michigan and Navorro Bowman of Penn State are the next two DPOY candidates in my mind, but Jones makes sense based on his sophomore season.

Ohio State was picked to win it, by the way, with Penn State second. That doesn't surprise me. But Terrelle Pryor as preseason OPOY does. No love for Darryll Clark after what he did last season?

I'm heading over to the Hyatt in downtown Chicago in a few minutes and I'll check back in with updates as they come. The coaches start their scintillating podium turns at 11 Eastern, with Mark Dantonio set for 1:30.
