MSU's problems go to 11

Consider this Polymer Records, and consider me Artie Fufkin. I'm waiting. Go ahead. Give me a swift kick on the behind.

Folks, I'm sure you're more worried about your football team and imagining the Wolverines putting 50 points on them, but I'm here to apologize. You deserve better from your beat writer. I did not see this coming. At all. As evidenced by today's bold and misguided fiction about MSU contending seriously for the Big Ten title.

So I apologize. I'll try to do a better job of paying attention. This defense is puzzling. It has athletes who have succeeded and can succeed at this level. But they are not playing together, they aren't tackling well and they sure aren't covering people.

The offense that looked so potent last week was suddenly full of mistakes. Wisconsin deserves credit for being a solid team and playing well on both sides of the ball. But all four of those turnovers were more MSU errors than great Wisconsin plays.

Honestly, I think both spots, DB and QB, would benefit from more stability and less shuffling. But what the heck do I know? I mean it. Kick me hard. (Unless you've never seen This is Spinal Tap, in which case, rent it now. You could use a laugh and an escape from your normal fall routine of escapism).
