'...we don't just shut her down...'

Reminder for today: Weekly live video chat at 2 p.m., just head to LSJ.com, click on the chat, submit questions and watch. Story for today: MSU once again needs to handle adversity before this losing streak gets out of hand.

Ross Weaver was very candid after the Wisconsin loss, here are some more of his comments:

On his own decrease in playing time: “On a personal level, I have a mindset that this can easily be taken away from you, so of course I’m not gonna pout because of playing time, or pout because of whoever’s getting in. As an ultimate goal, I want the team to win more. On a personal level, I’m just trying to do what I can, make plays. … I think I can help the team, but personally, self-evaluation, look at the plays, the missed tackles, the missed coverage and everything. You have to look at the team’s ultimate goals and ask yourself, is it a fact of you playing more or is it a fact that the team winning games. I’m not really looking to think I should be playing more. Of course I’d love to play more as a senior. But that’s not my primary goal. Whoever the coaches put in, I trust the coaches to make the best decisions.”

On whether MSU needs another players only meeting: “Right now, doing another one, it would be up to us, but it really comes from the players. We have to regroup as individuals. Everybody knows, we can have a meeting right now, but everybody’s not gonna have the same opinion. So sometimes it takes one-on-one talks, and maybe recollecting with your position group. Coming together and getting better. Because you can have all the players meetings that you want, but a players meeting is not gonna help you on Saturday. You’ve got to come and play.”

Stay tuned for news from MSU's presser, starting at 11:30. This week, MSU will have selected players only, at the podium. The quarterbacks, Rocco Cironi, Mark Dell and Greg Jones are scheduled to appear.
