Izzo lays it out for Lucas

Kalin Lucas did not practice today, as mandated by Tom Izzo, and Lucas' status for Wednesday's game and beyond is uncertain.

Much more on this soon -- as soon as I go through the Izzo tape. He made it clear that he is unhappy with the leadership displayed by Lucas, and that distractions are an issue with him. Izzo said this is not a suspension. This is not an academic issue. Izzo also made it clear he didn't ask Lucas not to practice. He told him.
Meanwhile, WKAR radio host Earle Robinson told me he saw Lucas shooting free throws in the auxiliary gym during practice, while Robinson was walking through to the main gym. So while this is certainly a troubling development for this team, a quick resolution would seem possible. Stay tuned.
