Get in line
The praise shower on Tom Izzo right now is high heat, strong water pressure. First, here's a statistical analysis of what Izzo has done in the NCAA Tournament (thanks Derek Melot for the link). Pretty interesting.
An old beat mate thinks Izzo is the best in state history, which sounds crazy at first, but it's a sound argument. Despite the short tenure, Biggie Munn should be considered there. And Monte Clark, of course. At Sports Illustrated, they're putting Izzo at the top of the list in college basketball, right now. Izzo has earned the love, but one thing I do think is often lost on national media is the fact that he has put together a lot of talented teams. A lot of very good talent (and a lot of future pros, just not a lot of future pro stars). It's not all Izzo willing a group of scrappers through the tournament every year (although that's closer to the truth this year).
In MSU basketball items not as Izzo-centric, here's a look at fast-approaching Summers and a beloved city in MSU's history. And yes, I initially wrote Donnelly instead of Brkovich. That might be upsetting enough to inspire me to go Vince Neil on a hotel room after making the drive to that city tonight.
