Meet the Spartans

For those in the Lansing area, MSU will be at Breslin for a welcome home pep rally tonight at 9 p.m. Gates open at 8:45.

For all MSU fans, tip your caps to what has to be the toughest of Tom Izzo's six Final Four teams. That's a bold statement, but no other team has had to battle through as much physical and emotional distress to get here. Two weeks ago, the idea that someone would be making a statement like that today would have been considered outrageous. Almost as outrageous as the idea that Durrell Summers would be Most Outstanding Player of the Midwest Region.

Even today, that game could have been lost a few times. The Spartans found a way against a Tennessee team that impressed me in every way except for the apparent inability to stop talking trash. More later, but one more note: Chris Allen just revealed that he is, in fact, playing on a slightly torn ligament in the right foot. He also said he felt no pain today.
