A commitment from Georgia, a visitor from Ohio

Mark Dantonio now has five verbals for the class of 2011, and tonight he will give the verbal -- presenting the annual Duffy award to a mentor and coach whose success lies in the details.

Before the ceremony, Tressel will spend the day with the MSU coaching staff. Let's review all the ties.

    * Dantonio, stints together at Ohio State, Youngstown State and Ohio State again.

    * Mike Tressel is his nephew and was a grad assistant during Ohio State's national title season of 2002.

    * Don Treadwell, Tressel coached him at Miami (Ohio) and hired him to Youngstown State along with Dantonio in 1986.

    * Dave Warner, Tressel was his quarterbacks coach at Syracuse.

    * Mark Staten was a grad assistant during Ohio State's national title season of 2002.

    * Ken Mannie was a grad assistant along with Dantonio at Ohio State in 1984, while Tressel was a full-time assistant there.

    * And Tressel replaced Bill Narduzzi, Pat Narduzzi's father, at Youngstown State, after Narduzzi had built the program into a national power.
