Izzo ascends to unrealistic "dream choice" level

Mike Brown fired, Cleveland job open, Dan Gilbert a Spartan, Tom Izzo mentioned. It all makes sense. The interesting thing about this assessment, though, is the fact that Izzo is grouped with Phil Jackson and Coach K in the sounds-great-but-not-bloody-likely category.

That was not the case a couple years ago when the Bulls and Izzo were said to be flirting. So the prospect of Izzo as an MSU lifer is becoming more plausible to the outside world. Have there been some intriguing possibilities and closer-than-you-think courtships since the Atlanta thing a decade ago? Sure, but it never happens, I never really thought it would (OK, maybe Kentucky for a minute), and I don't think it ever will.
