Rucker suspended
That's senior cornerback Chris L. Rucker, for at least the Illinois game.
Dantonio was asked if it'll just be one game.
"We'll see," he said.
What will you miss with him out?
"A corner."
Dantonio also said true freshman Darqueze Dennard will start against Illinois.
After Saturday's all-around impressive display from the Spartans in Ann Arbor, on and off the field, this is exactly what Michigan State didn't need. More drama. There's no more info at this moment on Rucker's situation.
In other news, Dantonio said he's feeling good physically after the U-M game and will try to add some work this week. It sounds like another day in the coaches box, not the sideline, is likely for Illinois.
"It'll depend on how I move forward," Dantonio said. "I think before I go on the sideline I have to walk a whole practice and be involved in the practice and walk. And you know, I can do that in 15-20 minute intervals. I don't want to set ourselves back here. So we'll see, I continue to get better and stronger every day."
