10 a.m. is chat time

Join the live chat at the main lsj.com page or here. Quick thoughts on last night's late viewing: Branden Dawson was exactly as advertised, an offensive rebounding demon with the physical dimensions to help MSU right away.

He also had a nice-looking baseline jumper, but my favorite part of his game may have been when he resisted the urge to just jack up a shot out of nowhere (Austin Rivers, are you listening?) and instead delivered a simple bounce entry to one of the 14 burger boys who have signed with Kentucky. Speaking of which, it was great to hear Jay Williams call Calipari a "recruiting mastermind." I mean, how does he get these recruits?!

On a totally unrelated note, HBO's college sports special was good. Nothing new on MSU that wasn't in the transcript the other day. To be clear, ONE player mentioned MSU, McGlover, not all four guys who were talking about getting paid at Auburn. They did have a nice shot of McGlover in MSU gear on his visit. I also enjoyed Rich Rodriguez taking the opportunity to scold the NCAA for punishing people for "a little extra stretching." Because running organized practices in the summer isn't a competitive advantage or anything. SMH.
