Random spring football quote

From Pat Narduzzi on Monday: “Marcus Rush is gonna be a great football player for us, it’s just a matter of when. And he’s gonna have a great opportunity this spring. And I could see him moving up the depth chart pretty quick. He’s a football player, he’s smart, he’s physical and we’ll see. He hasn’t shocked me, put it that way. … He’s gonna be a good player for us.”

Rush, surprisingly (to me, anyway), is listed No. 2 on the depth chart behind Tyler Hoover and ahead of Denzel Drone. Just one of a bunch of interesting little nuggets from Monday. Here are a few notes, with more to come Wednesday and through the week.

    Two things from today:

The Spartan Football Women's Clinic set for April 16 is now sold out.

And Mark Dantonio canceled media availability this morning, with no word yet on future dates. We were scheduled to have open practice this afternoon followed by interviews, with the same thing Friday. No word, either, on why the switch. But rest assured, there's been plenty of texting back and forth among reporters trying to figure out who ticked off whom.

UPDATE: MSU is now making selected players available at 6:30 -- Kirk Cousins, Edwin Baker, Todd Anderson, Steve Gardiner, Trenton Robinson and Jerel Worthy. Just wanted to keep you updated on my day. I just ate a white chocolate and macadamia nut cookie.
