Midweek roundup: baseball haul, rowing for it all

It's late May and the MSU athletics department keeps making news. The league co-champion baseball team cleaned up on Big Ten honors with the player, pitcher and coach of the year. It's on to the Big Ten Tournament for the Spartans -- the tourney starts today, No. 2 seed MSU starts Thursday and our Chris Solari will be all over it in Columbus.

The MSU rowing team is back in the NCAA Championships, a regular sight since the program debuted in 1998.

Over at Munn, the very busy Neil Koepke checks in with Tom Anastos as he reacquaints himself with both coaching and MSU.

Here's the the Byrd update, and here's where Kalin Lucas will be working out today.

Later: A sampling of reaction to my reaction to the reaction of some fans to the way football recruiting has been going in the state.
