'Keep the lion in the cage'

That's what Mark Dantonio encouraged Jerel Worthy to do, rather than continue providing motivational material to opponents via Twitter. There have been other, more bothersome tweets from MSU players in recent months, but Dantonio thinks that's under control now.

"It is a good example of how frustration or how a reaction, I guess this is the world we live in. The reaction is, ‘…I’m gonna Twitter that guy because I’m ticked off,'" Dantonio said of Worthy's tweets. "And the next thing you know you’re sending something out that you regret. It doesn’t make any sense.”

It was mentioned to Dantonio that MSU-Michigan week could be a "Twitter war" between players on both sides.

"It could be," he said. "It's 2011."

For the record, Dantonio is "not a Twitter guy." But he did just get on Facebook -- 45 friends and counting as of Friday.
