MSU just sent out its first depth chart for the 2011 season, and here are the highlights:

Mark Dantonio's father, Justin Dantonio, died Sunday at age 86, MSU announced today.
Tom "Killer" Kowalski, one of the best reporters and guys in the sportswriting business, has passed away at 51.

It's kind of like final exam cramming, putting together the MSU preview section (comes out Wednesday, buy extra copies, click on every story multiple times, leave nice comments), but one of the things I enjoy is looking back on the previous year's version.
MSU basketball recruit Dwaun Anderson lost his mother in the spring and will not enroll at MSU in the fall. Here's the full release explaining why.
Kirk Cousins, Joel Foreman and Trenton Robinson were voted 2011 captains by their MSU teammates. There will be a rotating fourth captain for each game. Cousins is the second MSU player to be a three-time captain, joining center Robert McCurry (1946-48).
