It's game week
If you want to know everything there is to know about Youngstown State football, just click here. Looking back on camp, it wasn't as news-packed as in some years but it gave us some hints about 2011.
Also, did you see the Lions-Patriots preseason game Saturday? It was quite a sight for those of us who have had a strange addiction to Lions Kool-Aid since the days of this guy (a knee injury away from being one of the all-time greats), but it also provided a chance for Drew Stanton and Brian Hoyer to face off in the second half. Both played well. Stanton (9 of 14, 93 yards, touchdown, interception) did his thing running the ball and his pick hit the hands of his receiver in the end zone. Hoyer was 6 of 12 for 88 yards with a couple drops, including a 20-yard bullet that Chad Ochocinco had no business flubbing. Both guys appear to have stable futures as backups, at the very least, and some are starting to think Hoyer could be moved and pull a Matt Cassell.
