MSU's first depth chart

MSU just sent out its first depth chart for the 2011 season, and here are the highlights:

At left tackle Jared McGaha OR Dan France. McGaha listed first is interesting and suggests he'll get the start. At center, Blake Treadwell OR Travis Jackson. Same assumption. Skyler Burkland is the starter at right tackle.

Dantonio confirmed that McGaha likely will start, but that France will play. And he suggested Fou Fonoti could be a candidate to go to the left side.

Brian Linthicum OR Garrett Celek at tight end, with Dion Sims third.

Denicos Allen is on the other side of the "OR" at both outside linebacker positions. It's Steve Gardiner OR Allen at the Sam and Chris Norman OR Allen at the Star. So it sounds like Allen is the fourth guy.

Marcus Rush OR Denzel Drone at one end and Will Gholston OR Tyler Hoover at the other end. Surprising stuff there.

Matt Giampapa OR Steve Moore at long snapper. Larry Caper is the other starting returner with Keshawn Martin, not Nick Hill, who is a backup along with Le'Veon Bell. Everything else is as expected.

UPDATE: Mark Dantonio opened up today about his father's death and why he'll coach the Spartans this week.

Also, he said Arthur Ray Jr.  has had a setback, his leg could not handle the stress of camp, so he's taking another rest period but remains "vigilant," Dantonio said.
