Depth chart absences, Dantonio presser

No Blake Treadwell, Tyler Hoover or Bennie Fowler on this week's depth chart for Ohio State.

Mark Dantonio is just arriving at the podium, updates in a few minutes...

    * Fowler remains week to week, it comes down to foot pain. He has practiced once in each of the past two weeks, he'll be at Ohio State and it will be a game-time decision. Hoover has a fractured rib and the hope is to get him back for the Michigan game. Also, Keshawn Martin (leg) is scheduled to practice today and play Saturday.

    * Dantonio said the decision to not let players talk is because of the pressure of the week, the fact that so many guys are from Ohio, the fact that "one story usually prompts another" and when players get interviewed "they get compromised a little bit."

"Our quarterback is asked a lot of questions, he's constantly talking to the media," Dantonio said. "And he needs to play well, he needs to relax, he needs to get away from that."

Also: "I've never tried to deny access to our players, I've never done that, but I just feel that this is the time to do that."

    * Dantonio gave an endorsement to Luke Fickell, saying: "He's what Ohio State needs, and I just want to say that publicly right now."

    * Dan France remains at No. 1 at left tackle, but Dantonio said France and Micajah Reynolds both will play Saturday. Also, Tony Lippett likely will see more action on offense.

    * George Saimes is scheduled to be the honorary captain.

    * Here's this week's three questions for your reading pleasure.
