So, um ... how about some hoops?

MSU's first exhibition starts in a few minutes and Denny Schwarze has a look at Austin Thornton to advance it.

Denny also will have some thoughts from that exhibition tonight, it's a transit day for me so my first look at this team in an organized game will be Friday's second exhibition. Also on the hoops front, a recruiting analyst is reporting a Dwaun Anderson verbal to Wagner. Didn't see that coming, but definitely figured he'd be choosing another spot some time soon.

OK, back to the football anger! MSU is down to No. 15 in the AP poll and 16 in the coaches poll. Michigan rises to 13 in both polls.

Game coverage from Lincoln, in case you missed it:

The game story here (Aw, shucked was the headline in the print edition, I believe, which along with my last blog post title satisfies our corn-pun obligation for the year).

    A column on that offense.

Notes, topping with the penalty see-saw. And the rail and report card.

From Nebraska, the Blackshirts are back. And here's quote of interest:

"When I ran off the field for the last time," senior safety Austin Cassidy said, "Coach Bo just grabbed me and said, ‘Hey, that's what happens when you prepare the way that we should every week.' It's easy to defend a team when you know what they're doing before they even know."

Also, Rex Burkhead's legend adds a chapter and Lee Barfknecht has an interesting take on the Spartans' reaction to the loss.
