All-Big Ten Spartans
First team media and coaches: Joel Foreman and Jerel Worthy. Johnny Adams was a first-team coaches selection, while Trenton Robinson made the media first team.
Kirk Cousins was on the coaches second team, while the media went with Denard Robinson. (Yes, Russell Wilson was first team).
B.J. Cunningham was on the second team for media and coaches, which I think is MSU's most legitimate gripe of the evening. Marvin McNutt and A.J. Jenkins beat him out for the first team. The numbers back up those picks, but Cunningham's clutch plays this season make him a must-have on the first team in my eyes.
The coaches had Brian Linthicum on their second team.
Defensively, coaches and media had Will Gholston and Isaiah Lewis on the second team. The coaches also had Max Bullough. The media countered with Denicos Allen and Adams.
MSU did not get any of the individual position awards, which are new this season. Cousins got MSU's Sportsmanship award.
Honorable mention for the coaches: Allen, Le'Veon Bell, Keshawn Martin, Robinson (there's a pretty major snub) and Marcus Rush.
Honorable mention for the media: Bell, Bullough, Dan Conroy, Cousins, Darqueze Dennard, Linthicum, Chris McDonald, Chris Norman, Kevin Pickelman, Rush.
And that means? Yes, every single member of MSU's starting defense got some kind of mention. That's pretty impressive and I'm not sure I can remember that happening for a team in recent memory. Maybe one of those great Ohio State defenses? I need a research staff, now!
