Another possible early departure

MSU junior cornerback Johnny Adams plans to look into his NFL draft prospects.

Adams would seem like someone who could benefit from another year, a bit more strength, more exposure, but asked whether he's really looking at a jump, he said: "I'm open."

Also today at the MSU camp, WR coach Terrence Samuel had praise for the play of Tony Lippett and Keith  Mumphrey, two players who will be important next season.

Harlon Barnett said Mitchell White is the No. 3 CB for the bowl game with Lippett working mostly on offense.

Dave Warner said no set plan is in place to get Andrew Maxwell work in the game, but the coaches would like to do it at some point. Maxwell said he's preparing for the opportunity and will be ready if it comes.

Mark Dantonio pulled a really interesting stunt involving an alligator near the practice field and an alligator trainer in MSU gear (he snuck in at the end of practice) who ran to wrestle the alligator as players wondered which one of their teammates had lost his mind. The trainer actually stumbled and the alligator (not a full-grown adult) clamped onto his leg. But he was fine and several players actually held the alligator after that.

Finally, for those of you hoping to see DeAnthony Arnett transfer from Tennessee to MSU, Tennessee does not intend to let that happen.
