MSU women's hoops: Nary a chance, on to the Big Dance
Chris Solari here again from Indianapolis. Let's get one thing straight: Ohio State's Jantel Lavender was unstoppable, and there was little if anything Michigan State's defenders could have done to prevent her women's Big Ten Tournament record 37 points Saturday night.
But when the Spartans found themselves with five players in foul trouble -- four with four, three of them starters, and another starter with three -- their chances of coming back against perhaps the hottest team in women's college basketball vanished.
The result was a 72-57 victory for the Buckeyes and plenty of frustration from MSU's players.
