If you can’t get Channel 10 anymore, raise your hand.
If you understand why you can’t get it, take a bow.
Since Feb. 17, when 10 turned off its analog signal, I’ve heard from at least a couple dozen local folks who can longer pull it in on their TVs.
In the course of a long conversation Thursday, Mike Winsky, chief engineer for WILX-TV showered me with information. Here are the parts I understood:
- Yes, it is problem.
- Yes, it’s a “very, very complicated” problem.
- The reasons for the loss of the signal vary, according to the kinds of equipment people are using.
- The engineers at WILX are making it their “top priority” to work with disenfranchised viewers one at a time. Phone 393-0110, or e-mail dtv@wilx.com
